Caterpillar Generators

My sons football team practices where there is no lights at night and we are looking to borrow some that have a generator and are powerful enough to light up the field at night while they practice. Any idea where I could go to ask?

I have a simple circuit set up with a two resistors, all connected by copper wires. How can I "connect" my generator to the circuit to allow it to serve as a power source? Do I need a specific cable? I plugged in one end of a BNC cable into my generator output terminal, but I’m not quite sure what to do with the other end. How can I "connect" this end to my two copper wires? Kind of confused here.

Okay, so I’m planning to build a hand-crank generator as a test and then move on to bigger and better things. I’ve been asking around for information and someone told me that the wire(s) in the center of the generator that are spun in a magnetic field to make electricity have to be wound a certain way to get a better energy output. How do they need to be positioned? If the description is too long to type, can you at least suggest a webpage? Thanks so much.

Need to figure out if the battery (Jan 2008) is getting weak, the car needs more power than the generator can deliver, or the generator is malfunctioning. Any simple test to narrow down the problem? Thanks!

I would like to get a generator and am also considering investing in some wind-power (urban windmill). I know that the windmill would require an inverter and that most portable generators have inverters in them. Is there any generator that would accept DC input and transform it into AC?

Hi, guys i have bought a mini generator that is 0.8KVA. There is no battery attached with it but have option to attach. I want to know what is the purpose to attach battery to generator. What can i get from it.

The generator I have is rated at 12 KW, requires 220V and 33Amp service to heat a room of 500 cubic feet. The power is only needed periodically and for short periods of time, 30 – 60 minutes a day. (on a rare occasion, twice a day.) How do I plan, organize and calculate the required equipment?

Hi, we are about to buy a narrow boat with a bank of six trojan battery’s for liesure purposes, what would be the best way to keep this charge apart from main power? I have been advised not to use run the engine for charging purposes. Could this be done by generator?if so what size generator should i get?
